Privacy Notice

Effective 2026-08-24. No ads on this page.

ThePalWiki is operated by ThePalWiki (the United States). This notice explains what information is processed when you use https://www.thepalwiki.com, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

We do not ask for your name, email address, or any account. We run one analytics product (Google Analytics 4) to count pages and one advertising product (Google AdSense) to pay for hosting. Both are controlled by your consent choices. Features that remember your progress store data in your own browser and never reach us.

Who is responsible

ThePalWiki. Contact: legal@thepalwiki.com. For visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, ThePalWiki is the controller for the processing described here.

What is processed

Automatically, on every request. Your IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp reach our hosting provider as part of delivering the page. These are used to serve the site and to detect abuse. We do not build profiles from them and we do not retain our own copy beyond our provider's standard log window.

Analytics, only with consent (or where consent is not required). Google Analytics 4 sets identifiers in your browser and reports page views, approximate region, device type, and referral source. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. We do not enable Google Signals, do not set a User-ID, and do not send search terms, form input, or any free text you type. Retention is limited to 14 months.

Advertising, only with consent (or where consent is not required). Google AdSense and its ad technology partners may set identifiers to select ads, cap how often you see the same ad, and detect fraud. Where you consent to personalised advertising, those partners may use identifiers to show ads based on inferred interests. Where you do not, ads are non-personalised โ€” note that non-personalised ads still use storage for frequency capping and fraud prevention.

Stored on your device, not sent to us. Progress trackers, checklists, the breeding planner, and your theme preference are saved in your browser's local storage. They contain no identifiers and are never transmitted. Clearing your browser data removes them; you can export a backup from the site.

Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Delivering the site and keeping it secure: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). Analytics and advertising storage: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), obtained through our consent management platform and withdrawable at any time. Storage on your device is governed by the ePrivacy rules implemented in your country, and we ask before any non-essential storage is set.

Who receives data

Google LLC and, for advertising, the ad technology providers disclosed inside the consent dialog. Our hosting and DNS providers process request data to deliver the site. We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, serving personalised advertising counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; see the next section for how to stop it.

Your choices

  • Reopen consent settings at any time from Privacy choices or the link in the site footer.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising and as a refusal of advertising identifiers. The signal cannot be overridden by our banner, and Privacy choices will confirm we received it.
  • US state rights. Depending on your state you may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. Because we hold no account data, most requests resolve to the opt-out above. Write to legal@thepalwiki.com and we will respond within the period your state requires.
  • EEA / UK rights. Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent, plus the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
  • Google's own controls. You can manage Google's use of advertising identifiers at https://adssettings.google.com and opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's browser add-on.

Children

ThePalWiki is a reference site for a video game rated for teens and older. It is not directed to children under 13, we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we do not use child-directed ad targeting. If you believe a child has provided information, write to legal@thepalwiki.com and it will be deleted.

International transfers

Google processes data in the United States and other countries. Those transfers rely on the safeguards Google publishes for its products, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

Changes

Material changes are announced on this page with a new effective date, and where required we will ask for consent again. Effective: 2026-08-24.

We use analytics and ads only after you choose. Functional paldeck data stays in this browser. Privacy ยท Privacy choices
